What are we?

Puzzlr is a small Escape Room business in Blacksburg. It is also the ONLY Escape Room in Blacksburg and is on the outskirts of Virginia Tech.

At Puzzlr, our rooms include abstract, logical, and interactive puzzles. We define these as:

Abstract - Finding different puzzles and riddles throughout the room that the players have to piece together to figure out the correct path out of the room

Logical - One puzzle or riddle leads players to the next puzzle or riddle throughout the room

Interactive - Collecting props and interacting with them throughout the room while trying to figure out the unclear path through the room

Two people giving each other a high five in front of a black wall with the word 'PUZZLR' and social media information. One person has curly hair and is wearing a hoodie and shorts; the other has straight hair and is wearing a jacket and pants.

Puzzlr’s Story

Puzzlr was opened in 2016 by its owners: Alvin Dela Paz and Cesar Grado. They opened Puzzlr after a day spent at King’s Dominion where they decided that they wanted to start something like a project or a business. Soon after this trip, they went and did an Escape Room together and they fell in love with the whole experience. This drove them to start an Escape Room business. Alvin and Cesar had been friends since Middle School and they knew that Alvin was coming to Virginia Tech as a student in the Fall of 2016.

During the Summer of 2016, the two scoped out places to begin their business and prepared plans for their Escape Rooms. They were finally able to open Puzzlr on Friday, October 28th, 2016 after many months of planning and hard work.
